VML-Technologies prepare tender specifications for lighting feature at renovated Schiphol Airport Lounge 3

2010/06/04   VML-Technologies have prepared the full technical specifications for the tender documents for the so called "LED strook (LED Strip)" and "LED luifel (LED Canopy)" lighting features for the new Amsterdam Schiphol Airport Lounge 3 area for consulting architects Merkx&Girod and Benthem Crouwel. These two lighting features will enhance the general atmosphere in the Lounge 3 area and aim to attract waiting passengers to the first level shopping area.

The "LED strook" consist of 12 aluminum ribbons, 300mm apart that run at 2.6m height over the full 112 meter length of the first level shopping passage with controllable pixels every 300mm. Each ribbon houses 371 controllable RGB LED pixels and the total number of pixels in the "LED strook" equals 4.452. The "LED luifel" is rectangular shaped and consists of 1.240 controllable RGB LED pixels.

The VML-Technologies report also included a thorough analysis of the required visual system performance, system wiring and configuration and mechanical integration of system components in the "LED strook" and "LED luifel" structure. Installation is scheduled to commence February 2011 and final completion is scheduled April 2011
