The Lattice™ D-series of individual LED pixel dots is the ideal solution for creating large-scale media façades with lower resolution on both regular and uniquely shaped 3D surfaces. The D-series consists of flexible LED pixel dot strings, available in various lengths, brightness levels, and pixel pitches, designed for seamless integration into three-dimensional and irregular façades. This allows for the creation of complex displays and dynamic lighting effects.
The Lattice™ D-series is typically used in installations with a pixel pitch ranging from 100 to 500 mm or higher, and can be mounted onto or seamlessly integrated within the façade fabric. While engineered to withstand harsh outdoor conditions in permanent installations, the D-series is also highly customizable for less demanding indoor applications.
The Lattice™ D-series pixel strings can be configured into virtually any layout, with multiple strings linked together to form a long array. Each array is limited to a maximum of 1024 pixels connected to a single data input from an RS-Block, also known as a “data zone.” Additional DC power can be injected into the array at strategic points using power cables with T-connectors, without disrupting the data flow. This design enables a simplified and efficient system architecture, minimizing cable routing on large media façades.

LED Media Façade installations typically require a substantial amount of power and data cables, cable ducts, and cable pulling. Minimizing wiring reduces installation complexity, power consumption and overall cost.
At VML we offer solutions tailored to the unique needs of each location to ensure optimal system efficiency and installation convenience. Therefore we offer two options for the system configuration for all Lattice™ products. Both systems are based on the proprietary VML Picturebox processing, but they differ in some processing components, and cabling. Both system options deliver the exact same high-performance levels, with the choice depending on equipment placement options and wiring preferences.
- Option 1: Individual power and data feed to Lattice™ LED strip chains
- Option 2: Combined power and data feed to Lattice™ LED strip chains
The Picturebox-SPX and -DDX video processor devices are supplemented with Picturebox-DSBX data distribution units, RS-Blocks and PSE power cabinets. The Picturebox-DSBX and PSE power cabinets can be conveniently located at different strategic locations.
- Each Picturebox-DSBX has 16 data outputs
- Picturebox-DSBX units can be cascaded
- Picturebox-DSBX units are available as stand-alone or 19” rack model
- PSE cabinets can be conveniently located close to the Lattice™ LED fixtures to keep power cables short for improved power efficiency
- Each PSE can contain up to 10 PSUs
- PSE cabinets can be customized to suit specific installation requirements and the number of PSU per PSE can be optimized for the desired system configuration
- Power and date are combined at RS-Blocks that feed combined power/ data to the first Lattice™ fixtures in a chain
- Standard Cat.5e cable used for the data connection from DSBX to RS-Blocks can be purchased locally. The data cable can also be terminated using standard RJ45 connectors
The Picturebox-SPX and -DDX video processor devices are supplemented with the Picturebox-PSBX that feeds combined power/ data to the first Lattice™ fixture in a chain.
- The Picturebox-PSBX may be placed at a convenient location, away from the strips
