Lattice™ Freeform
LatticeTM Freeform
LED video fixtures
At VML-Technologies, we have been pioneers in designing and delivering ground-breaking, complex LED media façade and architectural lighting products and projects. With unparalleled expertise in this field, we are frequently trusted to create innovative and sophisticated Lattice™ Freeform LED video fixtures and system design concepts.
All Lattice™ Freeform LED video fixtures are the result of close collaboration between customers and the VML engineering team. These unique LED video fixtures are developed based on an in-depth study of a project, leading to a bespoke functional and technical specification that precisely addresses the specific requirements –optical, electrical and mechanical. At the core of every Freeform product remains the powerful Lattice™ technology platform.
Lattice™ Freeform fixtures can be assembled into any desired configuration with many fixtures joined together to form a long array, limited to a maximum of 1 024 pixels connected to a single data input, also referred to as a “data zone”. Additional DC power may be injected into the array of strips at strategic points, as required, by means of power cables terminated with T-connectors without interrupting the data flow. This permits a very simple and logical system architecture which is efficient in minimizing cable routing on very large area Media Facades.
Key features
Why choose VML-Technologies Lattice™ products
Minimise power consumption and maximise efficiency
Optimise system configurations
LED Media Façade installations typically require a substantial amount of power and data cables, cable ducts, and cable pulling. Minimizing wiring reduces installation complexity, power consumption and overall cost.
At VML we offer solutions tailored to the unique needs of each location to ensure optimal system efficiency and installation convenience. Therefore we offer two options for the system configuration for all Lattice™ products. Both systems are based on the proprietary VML Picturebox processing, but they differ in some processing components, and cabling. Both system options deliver the exact same high-performance levels, with the choice depending on equipment placement options and wiring preferences.
- Option 1: Individual power and data feed to Lattice™ Fixture chains
- Option 2: Combined power and data feed to Lattice™ LED fixture chains
The Picturebox-SPX and -DDX video processor devices are supplemented with Picturebox-DSBX data distribution units, RS-Blocks and PSE power cabinets. The Picturebox-DSBX and PSE power cabinets can be conveniently located at different strategic locations.
- Each Picturebox-DSBX has 16 data outputs
- Picturebox-DSBX units can be cascaded
- Picturebox-DSBX units are available as stand-alone or 19” rack model
- PSE cabinets can be conveniently located close to the Lattice™ LED fixtures to keep power cables short for improved power efficiency
- Each PSE can contain up to 10 PSUs
- PSE cabinets can be customized to suit specific installation requirements and the number of PSU per PSE can be optimized for the desired system configuration
- Power and date are combined at RS-Blocks that feed combined power/ data to the first Lattice™ fixtures in a chain
- Standard Cat.5e cable used for the data connection from DSBX to RS-Blocks can be purchased locally. The data cable can also be terminated using standard RJ45 connectors
The Picturebox-SPX and -DDX video processor devices are supplemented with the Picturebox-PSBX that feeds combined power/ data to the first LatticeTM fixture in a chain.
- The Picturebox-PSBX may be placed at a convenient location, away from the strips
- Each Picturebox-PSBX can supply up to 10 lines of strips with power and data
- Picturebox-PSBX can be cascaded
- Picturebox-PSBX can be stacked in 19” racks
- A single, combined power/ data cable simplifies the system wiring and reduces the cost of installing cable
- The power/ data cable can be stripped to length and easily terminated to connect it to the Picturebox-PSBX.
